The end is near, and rock fans are celebrating! The legendary rock band, Queens of the Stone Age, is performing a series of shows this summer and fall for their latest outing titled The End is Nero! This North American stretch follows the Seattle-born quintet’s European outing, and these incredible musicians will come home to perform iconic hits, such as “No One Knows,” “Go With the Flow,” “Make It Wit Chu,” “Little Sister,” and many more! The Grammy-nominated band will also be debuting songs from their upcoming album, In Times New Roman, which is set for release in June! In their statement, the band’s forthcoming tour is a celebration of the end of the world! The End Is Nero Tour kicks off this August and will conquer 28 cities in the U.S. and Canada! On Friday, 4th August 2023, Queens of the Stone Age will make their way towards Toronto, Canada, for a one-night headbang worth fest at the Budweiser Stage. Moreover, the band will bring special guests, Phantogram and The Armed, to hype up the crowd! So better hurry and score tickets now, because if it’s really the end of the world, then you can say that the last band you saw was the incredible Queens of the Stone Age!
This summer, Queens of the Stone Age will drop their eighth studio album, In Times New Roman. The effort, released via Matador Records, was already preceded by singles “Emotion Sickness” and “Carnavoyeur.” In the band’s tour announcement, they released a statement inviting all music fans to come and join the end of the world, “The End Is Nero tour is an invitation from Joshua Homme, Troy Van Leeuwen, Michael Shuman, Dean Fertita, and Jon Theodore to come to celebrate the end of the world, which we hear is ‘in a month or two.’ They would like to encourage the obscene and the clean, the outcasts and the weirdos, and anyone and everyone in between to attend, this is where you belong. Leave your judgment at the door, bring anything and everything else.”
Since the release of their self-titled debut album in 1998, Queens of the Stone Age have dominated the charts with their unprecedented rock hits. They first made waves in Australia when their first two singles, The Lost Art of Keeping A Secret” and “Feel Good Hit of the Summer,” broke into the local charts. Both singles were spawned from their sophomore album, Rated R. Meanwhile, one of their early singles, “No Ones Knows,” remains a fan favorite until this day. The 2002 single was the band’s first entry on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 51. The song was featured in the band’s third effort, Songs for the Deaf, which also performed impressively on the Billboard 200 chart.
By 2005, Queens of the Stone Age has entered the Top 5 on the Billboard 200. Lullabies to Paralyze peaked at number 5 in the U.S. and number 4 in the U.K. The record also notably earned gold status in various countries, including Australia, the U.K., Canada, and New Zealand. The album also spawned the band’s second single on the Billboard Hot 100. “Little Sister” peaked at number 88 on the chart and remains one of the band’s most listened tracks across streaming platforms.
In 2013, the band achieved their first number 1 when their sixth effort …Like Clockwork, topped six Billboard charts, including the Billboard 200. The album became their highest-charting effort to date, and it released two critically-acclaimed singles, “I Sat by the Ocean” and “My God is the Sun.”
This 2023, Queens of the Stone Age will showcase their ever-evolving sound with their brand new album, In Times New Roman. The record is their first studio release in six years, and fans are already looking forward to its release in June.
