Toronto, Canada has shown and given him love, now their very own pride and joy, Drake, is paying it forward and giving it back.  The 4th annual  OVO Fest 2013 promises to be the one of the most-star-studded music festivals that would be the-talk-of-the-city, and will impact on the global social media sphere.  Day 1 will kick-off with not one, but double headliners — Frank Ocean and James Blake.  You’ll be on your feet as they bring the house down on the 4th of August 2013 at the Molson Amphitheatre,  Toronto, Canada

 

 

OVO, acronym for October’s Very Own, was founded by rap meister Drake, as his own record label, then expanded into his own brand of clothing line.  Its latest incarnations is the OVO Music Fest which had its first run in August 2010.   Since then, it has been an annual music event held during Civic holiday long weekend, also known as Carribanna weekend in Toronto which is a popular Caribbean festival in Toronto.

Frank Ocean is one of the headlining acts of Day1.   He used to shroud his identity at the back while other artists take the credit and the spotlight.   His initial break in songwriting was  ghostwriting for artists such as Brandy, Justin Bieber, and John Legend.  Now Frank Ocean has a vast ocean of followers who drown in ecstasy and emotion with his right-through-the-heart lyrics.

Sharing the stage with Frank Ocean is James Blake.  This electronic music whiz — a producer, singer and songwriter based in London, has bagged the runner-up position in the BBC’s Sound of 2011 poll. His debut album garnered a nomination in the Mercury Music Prize in 2011.  He goes by the moniker ‘Harmonimix’, for his mad remixing skills
