Us here at The Budweiser Stage, located right in the heart of Toronto and one of the leading venues in the city for grade-A music and performances, are so excited to welcome Kes The Band to the stage as they take on the world for their 2025 20th Anniversary Summer Tour (yes - we are indeed getting that old) in some of the hottest and most welcoming venues across the globe. The tour will take place from April to the late Summer months, and will see the band hit spots like Bora Bora in Malta, Festival Green over in the Cayman Islands, Summerstage in New York City’s iconic Central Park, St.Thomas Carnival Village in The Virgin Islands, and of course - right here in Toronto on June 14th.
When you speak about the electricity and the long lasting appeal of Kes, you have to realize the core of what keeps the band alive - it’s a family affair. Started by brothers Kees Dieffenthaller, Hans Dieffenthaller, Jon Dieffenthaller and childhood best friend Riad Boochoon, the band got their start in Trinidad and Tobago back in 2005. They began playing instruments when they were 10, hosting rag-tag performances in their backyard and developing their musical skills throughout high school. They began to take the band seriously when they got to college, and in 2006, they released their first album Three Baldheads And A Dread with the mega-singles Stay With Me and The Calling supporting the album's release, and cementing the band’s mainstream appeal and long lasting staying power. They have been dubbed the International Monarchs of Groovy Soca, have been nominated for a Soul Train Music Award, and have collaborated with Major Lazer, Shaggy, Joss Stone, and Snoop Dogg.
Now, with two sold out shows in New York and a celebration of their success over the last two decades, the band is ready to give it their all on the stage for us this summer - and are more grateful than ever for all the high praises they have been receiving. Speaking on the moment, lead singer Kees recently said in an interview “We’ve always believed in the power of soca to bring people together. To see that vision unfold not just in Trinidad, but in New York, Canada, and beyond—it’s deeply humbling. This moment belongs to all of us,” he said. And we’re so ready to welcome them here!
Canada’s FIRST ever international SOCA show, you won’t want to miss this one! Grab your tickets right now, and let’s have the best night of the summer! See you soon!
