Chicago blues legend Buddy Guy is an American blues guitarist and singer, who is a noted influence on some of music's greatest guitarists, including Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton (Clapton has described him as "the best guitar player alive"), Jimmy Page, Keith Richards, Jeff Beck, John Mayer and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Ranked 30th in Rolling Stone magazine's 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time, Guy first made his name in the 1960s playing with Muddy Waters as a house guitarist at Chess Records. It was during this time that he also struck up a musical partnership with harmonica player Junior Wells. Guy's career took off throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s, helped in part by Eric Clapton, who invited him to be part of the "24 Nights" all-star blues guitar line-up at London's Royal Albert Hall in 1991.
