English rock band Arctic Monkeys has delivered some of the greatest indie rock hits in the past twenty years. The Sheffield-born and bred rock outfit, composed of frontman Alex Turner, guitarist Jamie Cook, drummer Matt Helders, and bassist Nick O’Malley, have released seven critically acclaimed albums. Arctic Monkeys have reportedly sold more than seven million albums worldwide, 1.5 of which were sold in the U.S. In 2006, the band dropped their debut and best-selling album, Whatever People Say I Am; That’s What I’m Not. The record dominated the U.K. charts and entered the Billboard 200 at number 24. Preceded by hits, “I Bet You Look Good on the Dance Floor” and “When the Sun Goes Down,” the album earned double platinum status in the U.K. after selling more than two million copies.
In 2013, Arctic Monkeys released another notable album, AM, which topped the charts in 12 countries, including the U.S. and U.K. Am later earned multiple platinum status in seven countries after selling millions of copies worldwide. The band’s latest album, The Car, was produced with longtime collaborator James Forder. The ten-track studio effort was written mainly by Alex Turner, with some contributions from Jamie Cook and former Milburn guitarist Tom Rowley.

The band has made its mark as one of the decade's most influential indie rock bands. They also earned numerous accolades, including five Grammy nominations, seven Brit Awards, and 20 NME Awards.
