System of a Down at Molson Amphitheatre

System of a Down are an alternative metal band hailing from southern California, with their rise to fame in the mid-late 90's. Often compared to the likes of Ozzy Osbourne, Korn, Slayer, frank Zappa and Jane's addiction. Yet they stand out from the crowd with their eastern European influence, which has crafted them a mix of the harmonic, rhythmic and tonal richness of traditional music with heavy metal beats and Serj Tankian's melodic, screamo vocal style. Influencing the NU Metal era.
Their unique genre has earned them incredible success, both in the alt metal scene and mainstream. In 2001 they released their ambitious album, Toxicity, which included well known classic tracks such as "Chop Suey" and the title track "Toxicity", the album went gold. And their second album was another reason to celebrate as it became multi-platinum!
Since then, System of a Down are still conquering the rock industry, they reunited in 2010 and have been on and off touring ever since. Their 2015 world tour is to Commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Armenian Genocide, a topic very close to their hearts.
