In the midst of a global pandemic that sent everyone stuck in their bedrooms, Conan Gray soon found his audience massively growing as everyone started brawling their tears out to "Heather". Striking the soul with his relatable tales and alluring melodies, he was soon hailed as pop's next big thing. His debut LP "Kid Krow" hit the Top 5 on the US Billboard 200, becoming the biggest debut of the year by an American artist in the US.
In 2022, he released his sophomore LP "Superache", much to the acclaim of critics and fans globally. Its deep cuts include his hit tracks "People Watching", "Astronomy", and "Jigsaw". "I wrote these songs for me," he told NYLON. "All I knew is that I didn’t want to repeat myself and say the same things I said on Kid Krow and I think life has changed enough for me to have new things to say."
In a conversation about touring for Superache, Gray shared his thoughts about the chance to perform live on stage once again. "Touring is the moment where it becomes this massively healing process where I take these emotions that are so personal and so painful, and then I get to look out into a crowd of people who are furiously screaming every single word back to me," he told TexasMonthly.
Cutting even deeper into the industry with his relatable and soul-striking tales, Conan Gray offers a sense of closure to deep-rooted feelings in every track. Whatever one may feel or have faced in life, Gray's music offers a warm conversation of feeling that sense of connection to someone who's gone through the same. He may be a young Gen Z star, but his dedication to his music inspired by life lessons is definitely a big deal.
