Get ready to bang your head, slam your body, and get buried alive in a mosh pit! Tons of heavy metal greats are marching they way to Toronto, Canada. It’s massive. Epic. Colossal. It’s the Gigantour 2013! This power-packed metal festival is headlined by none other than the mean metal gods of Megadeth, plus a host of other metal heavyweights which include Black Label Society, Device, and many more! Be there to give these metal giants a roaring welcome at the Molson Amphitheatre, Toronto, Canada on Augut 11, 2013, 4:30 pm.
The Gigantour is the brain child of thrash metal pioneer Dave Mustaine, frontman and founder of the band Megadeth. In 2005, Megadeth led this metal march with Dream Theater,Nevermore, Anthrax, Fear Factory, among others. This heavy metal festival not only showcased the super stars, but also set the stage as a launch pad for the then-up-and-coming acts such as Lacuna Coil, Into Eternity, and Sanctity — who are now metal stars of this generation.
Mustaine says:
“This year’s power-packed lineup is probably the best Gigantour yet, and we’ve had some pretty massive Gigantours over the years. Gigantour 2013 brings four of my favorite bands, each centered around a superstar. With Zakk (Wylde, BLA), David (Draiman), Vinnie (Paul, Hellyeah), and Jason (Newsted) there are going to be fans from Ozzy to Disturbed to Pantera to Metallica and everything that’s metal in-between! Don’t miss the metal festival of the summer!”
This year’s line-up include: BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, DEVICE, HELLYEAH, NEWSTED and DEATH DIVISION.
Megadeth was formed in 1983, after frontman Dave Mustaine was fired from his original band Metallica. ”After getting fired from Metallica, all I remember is that I wanted blood. Theirs. I wanted to be faster and heavier than them.”, say Mustaine. With over 30 years of active existence, Megadeth is highly acclaimed as one of the masterminds of the thrash metal genre. With a total of fourteen studio albums released to date, six consecutive albums are certified multi-platinum. Their collective worldwide album sales to date has reached over 50 million copies.
