Budweiser Stage
What's coming to the Budweiser Stage in Toronto is an 80s British rock fest for the ages. Headlined by Simple Minds, the Alive & Kicking Tour is set to land on Canadian soil on Wednesday, June 18th. If you're a fan of Simple Minds, Soft Cell, or Modern English, you need to make your way to the Budweiser stage on this day. You'll get a chance to hear hit after hit, all leading to the climax of the night when Simple Minds will sing "Don't You (Forget About Me)."
At this event, you might actually hear more cheers and screams for a song from one of the openers. Soft Cell's "Tainted Love" is one of those tracks that defined an era. When it comes on, you can expect the Budweiser Stage to erupt.
Maybe it won't be "Tainted Love" or "Don't You" that gets the most cheers. Modern English's "I Melt With You" is another track that you're going to know by heart, even if you're not a massive fan of the band.
This talk about the concert featuring hit after hit is no joke! Now that you know what you're up against, you'll want to click that get tickets button and head to the Budweiser Stage in Toronto on Wednesday, June 18th.
At this point, you've probably recognized all of the flagship tracks from the bands that are going to be taking over the Budweiser Stage. If you were around in the 80s, you probably never thought these three powerhouses would share the stage. Another thing that's true is that these tracks have transcended their own era. Through movies and TV shows, even younger generations have had a chance to sing their heart out to "I Melt With You." There's something about "Don't You," that makes you feel like you're at a neo-rock British pub. Speaking of feelings, that's exactly how you want to take this show in! Be in your feelings, singing along to all of the tracks that these iconic bands are going to be putting out here.
One of the coolest things about this particular tour is that all the bands are still regularly playing. You're not going to be walking into an old-timers event to realize "Simple Minds" are past their prime. They're still very much going strong. As mentioned, in the 80s, only a massively popular rock fest in the UK would be able to get these three together. Who knows, maybe all three bands will get up on stage to do a collaboration to make the show even more memorable. This level of rock legends don't necessarily show up in Toronto on a weekly basis. That's why you don't want to miss this event!
These events in the 80s took place at large venues with standing room only. That's how you knew it was going to be a party. These days, though, a venue like the Budweiser Stage provides a lot more comfort. It could still be a good idea, though, to find a spot close to the stage to truly get that rock concert experience. There are a ton of great seats in the house, but you gotta click the Get Tickets button soon because these spots may run out!
